What is MyFreeCams?
MyFreeCams, also known as MFC or simply “Free Cams”, launched in 2004. Shows range from flirty talk and stripteases to full live shows, and there’s a lot of nudity even in the free rooms. You’ll find many performers from Colombia, the Philippines, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine and Russia, and lots of American performers too.
Is MyFreeCams legit or a scam?
You can’t talk about cam sites without mentioning MyFreeCams. With all the new sites of the last few years it has lost some ground, but it’s still a cultural phenomenon. There are no subscriptions: buy tokens once and you’re a premium member for life, with no future charges. And new members get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
MyFreeCams features you’ll like
- Free sex chat: watch for free; only pay for one-on-one and group shows.
- American performers: lots of them, next to performers from all over the world.
- Cam2cam: turn on your webcam anytime, for free, without going private.
- Lifetime premium: buy tokens once and you’re premium forever.
- Reward Points: one point for every 10 tokens you buy, unlocking extra options over time.
- MFC Share: join a performer’s club for free club shows.
Models and performers
Thousands of performers, but men aren’t allowed on camera, so there are no men’s or couples sections. That’s one reason MFC has lost some fans. Most visitors, though, come exactly for the women.
Women
A huge, varied selection of American and international women, most with HD cams. Whatever your fetish, someone on MFC is into it too.
Men and couples
Not here. For men, try Flirt4Free or Streamate; for couples, Chaturbate, Cam4 or CamSoda. And for trans performers, Stripchat or ImLive have far more choice.
Interface, search and filters
MFC isn’t popular because of its design. The classic green, old-school site hasn’t changed in years, and the owners clearly think: why change a winning team? Once you know your way around, you won’t want it to change either.
At the top of the homepage, switch from profile pictures to live previews; the pictures are clunky. You can customize the homepage and sort performers your way. The chat is the most cluttered of any site: every font and color imaginable, thousands of emoticons, and even the “Buy Tokens” button doesn’t stand out. Filters by region, popularity and tags are extensive, though performers tag themselves. The search bar matches names, room topics, tags and news posts, even with AND, OR and NOT, and works better than on most sites.
Show types on MyFreeCams
- Free chat: the main place where members and performers interact. Some performers require an account or tokens to chat, but you can always watch.
- MFC Mail: send longer messages to performers and other members, and see when they’ve read them.
- Private show: 1 token per second (60 a minute). Your private shows are recorded and free to rewatch in your Archives.
- Spy show: watch someone else’s private show for 20 tokens a minute, with video and audio but without the private chat.
- TruePrivate: 80 tokens a minute, and nobody can spy.
- Group show: once at least three members request it and the performer accepts, a group show costs only 10 tokens a minute.
- Club show: free group shows for members of a performer’s MFC Share club.
- Cam2cam: start your webcam anytime, for free, and choose who’s allowed to watch. Nobody records it.
Is MyFreeCams cheap or expensive?
A private show costs 60 tokens a minute, so it adds up quickly. MFC has no coupons, sales or discounts: packages cost the same for everyone, everywhere. Bigger packages give you a slight discount, and larger ones unlock after a few months as a premium member.
Payment options and bank statement
Billing is discreet: depending on the method, your statement shows “CCBill.com ActiveSoft”, “MFCBill.comTokens”, “MFCGate.comTokens” or “SegPayMFCXY” (SegPay also handles PayPal). There are no recurring charges.
Private show prices
60 tokens a minute for a private, 80 for a TruePrivate, 20 for spying and just 10 for a group show.
Why go premium?
Buy tokens once, and you’re a premium member for life: full access to every feature, even if you never buy tokens again, plus bigger token packages after a few months.
What we like
Spending money is always optional, and even without it you’ll find plenty of live action. And it’s a real community: customize your profile, make friends and keep in touch through MFC Mail.
What we don’t like
The old design takes time to figure out, private shows cost a lot of tokens, and stream quality can lag.
Our verdict
To rank high, cam quality and site speed matter most, and competitors do better there. But MFC has a great selection of American women, free recordings of your private shows and a satisfaction guarantee, and its long history is part of the charm. It deserves its nickname: Free Cams.
